I think it is the biggest faux pas of all, and therefore worth mentioning before we go any further. And that is, thinking that being fashionable when you’re over 60 is synonymous with looking younger.
We all have our favorite clothes for a night out with friends or just bumming around the house. But when you want to make a good impression at work, there’s more at stake than just what you like.

When you consider recumbent bikes, your first thought, like mine, may be, “Those things are not for me. They’re slow and only for old people.” That is what I believed too.
It does seem like every so often a new type of diet is created, books are written, new recipes online and a new way to boost sales of different foods emerge.
What comes to your mind when you hear the term orange pekoe? The lovely aroma of citrus and orange blossoms? A delicious tea that tastes of oranges? In fact, the term really has absolutely nothing to do with the orange fruit.
Soup isn’t just for winter, though a bowl of hot soup on a cold day always sounds comforting and wonderful.
I make hot soups during the summer because my husband loves soup. I have a few soups that are suitable served cold or at room temperature. My soups often have lots of veggies and different beans.

When you ask most single older people if they would like to find love after 50, the answer is almost always yes. But, if you ask them whether they think it is actually possible to find love after 50, their answers are more mixed. Some people believe that finding love is possible at any age. Others are skeptical.
One of the biggest misconceptions about aging is that we no longer care about beauty, sex or romantic companionship. What rubbish!
Older women today are challenging stereotypes and living life with verve and passion. We want to look great, even if we don’t really care what other people think. We want to build meaningful
One of the best things about running Sixty and Me is that I get to interview so many fascinating people. Recently, I have interviewed over 50 dating coaches and entrepreneurs, doctors and yoga teachers. Each discussion was unique in its own way, but, I have to be honest that I have a special place in my heart for my interview with dating coach, David Wygant.
I’ve met a lot of discouraged mid-life ladies, women who worry that, when it comes to dating after 60, all men want is someone young and hot. And yes, most men would like to find a younger woman; and they put a premium on aspects of beauty that are tough to maintain as we age. I could tell you they don’t, but I’d be lying, undercutting my own credibility, and going against data collected all over the world.
Yet you can successfully compete with younger women. Here’s how, in five scientifically proven steps:

I love the idea of cruising. My first experience on the open ocean was as an 8-year-old, when my family emigrated from England to Canada.
Dark clouds hung over the North Sea. As heavy waves crashed against the hull of her ship, the explorer huddled under a blanket, watching the cold rain fall in sheets outside her window. Lighting flashed and the adventurer thought of all of the people who had come to this remote part of the Earth before her. Many of them had never returned. Thunder rolled over the ship and her heart skipped a beat. It was going to be a long night.
Two years ago, I had the pleasure of taking my first ever river cruise. It was a Viking Christmas sailing on the Rhine River from Basel to Amsterdam. For 10 days, I enjoyed an intimate and relaxing cruise experience that stimulated and satisfied all my senses in a totally unique way.
So, you’ve just booked your fantastic holiday or family vacation – now what? Getting ready to leave is much more complicated than just packing.
There are so many arrangements that need to be made before leaving home. It doesn’t matter if it is for a few days or a few weeks, there are some things you need to remember to do.

Human beings are naturally hard-wired to favor encounters and exchanges with like-minded people.
This website is proof positive of that inclination and it makes sense. Who else but another 60-something might grasp all (or most) of life’s intricacies than someone walking the very same journey?
If you’ve ever thought about asking for help with your finances – maybe trying to roll over your 401k without getting dinged by tax penalties or making sure you’re not taking too much risk with your life savings – you may have found yourself wondering what financial advisors actually do.

In a world where we regularly hear about ‘data breaches’ and identity theft it’s no wonder you may hesitate to share too much on Facebook. It’s scary to think people can learn so much about us.
I worked in non-profit organizations (NGO’s) for over three decades and, for the most part, enjoyed the time spent with the volunteers that came in to help.
These are turbulent times that we live in, and I am amazed at the uncontrolled and selfish conversing I see and hear lately. It’s everywhere! TV, social media, restaurants, ball fields, schools… everywhere! I believe everyone has forgotten “It’s just your opinion.”

Do you ever wonder if you’re worth it? Do you believe you are valuable to the people you love? How about yourself? Do you let others define your value? Do you hide your true self? Do you know your true self?
When you think about freedom and ageing well, what pops into your mind? Is freedom an oxymoron or can you step into an even greater personal power in your 60s and beyond?
Your money style, whatever it may be, can be helpful, but it can also block your progress. Oftentimes we cling to beliefs about money without even thinking about why we hold them.
