When it comes to taking care of your aging skin, it’s difficult to know where to turn for advice.
Sure, there are plenty of companies who would be more than happy to sell you their latest expensive cream, but, how do you know which ones actually work?
Well, let’s just get one thing right on the table: almost every outfit just looks better with high heels. They lengthen your legs, they make for better visual proportions, and they add an element of chic to anything they’re worn with…
Some people figure out their fashion style early in life and then spend decades building on and improving that style. I am in awe when I see a young woman who already understands her personal style and goes into the world with confidence and flair.

Bone broth, which is basically soup broth, has been around for centuries. Our ancestors used to keep a pot of broth over the fires to use in making meals. Making bone broth was a way of using every part of an animal so that nothing was wasted. It was an inexpensive and versatile source of nutrients.
I attended a conference in December where Meryl Streep was asked what advice she would give the 11,000 attendees.
Without a moment’s hesitation she said, “Stop worrying about your weight. Women lose way too much of their energy worrying about their weight. They could be using that energy for far better things.”
Last year, Jane Fonda proudly announced that she had put on some weight, and that she was looking better. She said growing up, she was told it was a choice between her ‘ass or her face,’ but now she’s getting complements on both.

Many women over 50 have been divorced, experienced the death of a partner, or never been married. So, it’s no surprise then that, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, 40% of Americans over age 45 are single. Years ago, when I encountered any sort of problem or difficulty at work, I would tell my team not to worry. I would reassure them that I would just bring in my magic wand. Everything would be fine.
We all have a list of places we would like to see someday. Getting older, we suddenly realise the need to “Just Do It.”
I never had a real honeymoon. You know how these things go. My ex-husband and I didn’t have the money and we couldn’t justify the time.
So it was that, as a 60-something-year-old divorced woman, I received an intriguing offer on my trip to Bali. I was asked to test drive a honeymoon experience with the luxury hotel group Alila.
Being in the travel industry all my life has given me access to many different styles of lodgings. From large all-inclusive resorts to small family owned boutique style hotels and everything in between. Although I did draw a line at tents… camping is not for me!

One of the major concerns for those entering into retirement is no longer having a paycheck. In addition, there is a normal fear of running out of money and having to spend what we spent a lifetime saving. One of the primary issues is how to make withdrawals from the various accounts we have built up and the timing of withdrawing from these accounts, both personal and retirement.
What does it take to be a millionaire grandma? If you said, “having a million dollars in the bank,” you’re only half right. In fact, many women who reach this financial milestone won’t be able to live the lifestyle that most of us associate with being a millionaire… but, that’s a topic for another article!
As we reach our 60s, many of us are looking for creative ways to make money in retirement. Some of us are looking to earn some extra cash for luxuries, like travel and entertainment. Others are focused simply on surviving in a low interest rate environment in which it feels like we are paying the bank to hold our money.
By the time you reach your 60s, you’ve almost certainly made your share of financial mistakes. Even if you are one of the lucky few who managed to save consistently for retirement, you probably look back on your life and wish that someone had taught you more about money as a kid. I know I do!

There’s no advance warning system to predict one’s response to retirement.
You can chat yourself up before the actual day arrives. You can bathe in some fuzzy ‘before-glow’ about the leisurely life you’re about to experience. However, nothing can prepare you for the moment your world shifts from deadlines and demands to dead time and sweat pants.
There is such an abundance of free time in retirement that it is easy to feel unsure of how to restructure your day so that you can remain just as productive as you may have felt pre-retirement.
Maybe you’re still living in the house where you raised the children: Bedrooms remain unused. Closets are full of things accumulated over decades. Memories are in every corner. The garage is stuffed with who knows what.
Do you find yourself avoiding using technology because either your vision isn’t perfect or your eyes are fatigued at the end of the day? Do you think you’d be more likely to benefit from apps like FaceTime, Skype and text messages if you could see their buttons in a larger and/or clearer display?

I’m always sure the grass is greener on the other side. The person sitting next to me got the bigger portion. My friend learned about investing, while I didn’t. The girls in high school knew how to get a prom date. People stay happily married. Everyone else knows something I don’t.
A few years ago, an older, well-dressed woman walked into my therapy office. She seemed agitated. Nervously, she told me that she was unable to eat or sleep because she was troubled by sexual fantasies about her best friend’s husband.
As the end of the year approaches, I begin to putter around in closets and cabinets, donating those things that I am not using. I enjoy simplicity and orderliness. But it’s not just the cabinets and drawers that deserve attention, it’s the stressful things in our psyche that we should be willing to give up.
