Women come in all shapes and sizes. There’s no point in denying it or trying to hide it. Instead, you should celebrate your shape with a flattering personal style.
When I was a child in the 1950s, I didn’t know anything about fashion. I didn’t notice what the women around me were wearing. And I certainly didn’t question what I saw on television or in the movies.
The fact that June Cleaver, the mom on Leave It to Beaver, and her fictional contemporaries were stay-at-home mothers who always wore a neatly-pressed shirtwaist dress with a strand of pearls didn’t make an impression on me.
There is a certain ripeness that comes with age that can only blossom when nourished properly, inside and out.
Okay, not so long ago, I didn’t know who Iris Apfel was either. Then I watched a Netflix documentary on the 95-year-old businesswoman, interior designer and fashion icon, and now I can’t stop thinking about her.

Finding love after 60 is a major topic of discussion and curiosity for women in the Sixty and Me community – and with good reason. Many women over 60 are embarking on a new stage of life with different relationship statuses than were common in our parents’ era. Some women are recently divorced. Others became widows or simply chose to never to marry in the first place.
This leaves many women wondering whether it is worth re-entering the dating world and looking for the best way to go about finding love after 60.
Coffee shops must be making a fortune from the trend in online dating that almost invariably leads to the first date suggestion of “let’s just get a coffee.”
One of the biggest misconceptions about women over 60 is that we are “invisible” and sexless. The truth is that sex after 60 is an important topic, even for those of us who live by ourselves.
Women over 60 are still feeling sensual and sexy, and we’re more empowered than ever before to explore our feelings and have the kinds of sexual experiences that we want to have. Many of us are dating again after a divorce or widowhood, and many other women over 60 have never stopped dating.
But no matter where you are in the relationship game, there are a few things that you need to know about sex after 60.

Asking a frequent traveler to pick the best cruise line in the world is like asking a mom to choose between her children. They’re all amazing! Besides, how can you really compare the various options?
Is the relaxed pace of a river cruise really comparable to the hustle and bustle of a 6000-passenger mega-ship, with casinos, movie theaters and climbing walls? Doesn’t it simply depend on the type of experience that you are looking for?
Do you have fears that stop you travelling in general? Will 2017 differ from any other year?
We at To Travel Too recently asked 100 travellers over 60 to share what would stop them from travelling in 2017. The results are in and they are really interesting. Do any of their comments resonate with you?
When we are planning a vacation, or any kind of trip for that matter, we typically plan for all sorts of situations.
What clothes do we need to include for everything we want to do? What snacks do we want to keep within our grasp? Do we have enough of our prescription medications for the entire time we will be away? The list goes on.
The U.S. National Park Service turned 100 on August 25, 2016. As a committed city girl, I had somehow managed to live 20 years in the United States without setting foot in one of these amazing Parks.

The use of beneficiary designations is one issue that is not well understood and can lead to much confusion.
Most people think it is a simple matter of naming a person to receive certain assets by will or trust or naming them as a beneficiary of a retirement plan. I only wish it were that simple!
I wasn’t old enough to rent a car, but in my early 20s a major brokerage firm recruited me to become a stockbroker. I was excited until I figured out that I’d just committed to a career of telemarketing.
Have you applied for Social Security benefits only to find that you will get less than you expected? Many government workers are shocked to learn they will get a lower payment when they retire.
With their many twists and turns, the thought of trying to figure out Social Security policies can make your head spin. Myths abound about Social Security. Unfortunately, many people believe them.
Sadly, these myths can cost you big time.

I like to chat. I chat first thing in the morning about any problems I faced in the night. Then I chat at lunch about events of the morning, and I chat in the evening about the rest of the day.
Last year, I met with two of my retired friends for a Saturday afternoon glass of wine. Both had retired within the previous two years.
We read about how wonderful being over 60 is and that retirement is almost regarded as Nirvana. Social media is splashed with photographs of retirees enjoying themselves and looking happy.
One enchanted evening, 37 years ago, I met Ann at an industry dinner party. Sitting next to one another at a large round table in a noisy restaurant, conversation soon revealed we’d both grown up in Brooklyn, attended – at different times – the same high school and college, and later lived one block from each another on the same street in Manhattan.

All day long, you make decisions – some large, some small. Each one of them reflects the things that you feel are important. What is the basis for this or that decision? It’s something that may not be immediately apparent as you go about your day, dealing with events, people, circumstances.
One of the funny things about getting older is that you always feel younger on the inside. In my case, I sometimes feel like a 25-year-old in a 70-year-old’s body. How about you?
