Fabulous Hairstyles for Older Women – Celebrity Inspiration

People think that older women don’t care about how they look. Ridiculous! We still want to look our best. We research the best hairstyles for older women and we try to pick clothes that make us look and feel great! Unfortunately, it’s not always easy to get the information we need. So, I thought that it would be fun to look for a little inspiration from our favorite older actresses.

What Are the Best Hairstyles for Older Women?

One aspect of our appearance that we pay particular attention to as we age is our hair. After all, it’s the one thing that we wear every single day. Unfortunately, in our youth-obsessed culture, it’s often hard to find examples of hairstyles on models that are actually our age. This particular series of images feature female celebrities who are all over 60. However, in a future article, I’ll try to provide some examples of non-celebrity women as well.

Here are some fabulous hairstyles for older women, as worn by some of my favorite celebrities. I hope that you will inspiration in them as you think about your next look.

Hellen Mirren

Helen Mirren is a fascination to me. She is confident, strong and a bit of a “wild child.” She experiments with haircuts and hair colors, most recently sporting a pink hairdo that everyone loved. She is confident, creative and takes risks. Opinionated, unpredictable, and elegantly bohemian, she embodies the quirky, individualism of women over 60.

Jane Seymour

Jane Seymour always seems quite focused on enhancing her beauty, makeup and fitness. I always admired her thick lustrous hair tumbling down her back. She seems a natural beauty, vibrant and full of life. Her hair was always healthy, thick and flowing, adding to her seductive feminine charm.

Meryl Streep

Meryl Streep has a wonderful strength and vulnerability. Her elegance and grace is always present. She is a genuinely a fantastic actress and seems to always live inside the body of the women she plays. Witty, intelligent, and a little bit edgy, her sense of fashion is dramatic. Her hair always seems to be natural and not overly done up. She seems very down to earth and I imagine her just sitting at home with her hair pulled back casually.

Judi Dench

Dame Judy Dench is an authentic talent. I don’t think she worries about her hair or makeup as much as other actresses. Her hair matches her personality perfectly – short, pixie and unobtrusive. Her focus is on what she does best – acting. She is natural, down to earth, and funny. To me, her hair reflects her mischievous attitude to life.
