Going Grey – Yea or Nay? Are Women Over 60 Deciding to Go Grey?
Since starting Sixty and Me several years ago, I’ve asked hundreds of questions to the women in our community. We’ve discussed serious issues like loneliness. We’ve discussed silly topics, like who is the sexiest male celebrity over 60. We’ve argued about whether it is possible to find love after 50. Of all of the questions that I have asked, none has spurred more discussion than the topic of going grey.
Are You Going Grey?
Some women love their grey hair. They see their beautiful silver strands, not only as an expression of their beauty, but, also as an expression of their lifestyle. Other women, like me, continue dyeing our hair, well into our 60s. Our reasons are varied. Some of us are still in careers and worry about what our co-workers will think of us if we let our hair go grey. Some of us just prefer blond, brown or even pink hair.
So, to settle this debate once and for all, I wanted to ask you the following question. What’s your opinion on dyeing your hair vs. going grey? Please vote below and share your answer so that we can keep the conversation going.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this! Have you decided to go grey? What were the main reasons that you made this decision? What advice would you give to someone who wants to go grey but isn’t sure if it’s right for them? Do you still color your hair? Why? Please join the conversation.
