What is the Best Cruise Line, According to Women Over 60?

By Margaret Manning November 27, 2016 Travel

Asking a frequent traveler to pick the best cruise line in the world is like asking a mom to choose between her children. They’re all amazing! Besides, how can you really compare the various options?

Is the relaxed pace of a river cruise really comparable to the hustle and bustle of a 6000-passenger mega-ship, with casinos, movie theaters and climbing walls? Doesn’t it simply depend on the type of experience that you are looking for?

Of course it does! But, that doesn’t mean that we can’t have a little fun sharing our favorite cruise experiences.

Does Habit Prevent Us from Finding the Best Cruise Line for Us?

One of the unfortunate aspects of human nature is that it is easy to stick with what we know. I know women who took their first Carnival cruise 20 years ago and have returned to the same ship – or at least as close as they could get – again and again.

There’s nothing “wrong” with this. At the same time, it occurs to me that we have a great deal of experience and wisdom on the community. Between us, we have tried almost every kind of cruise imaginable.

I know women who have travelled to Antarctica on the National Geographic Explorer. I have talked with people who have taken river cruises with Viking. Other women I know simply love the noise and energy that only one of Royal Caribbean’s mega-ships can provide.

The bottom line is that there are more options than ever when it comes to cruising. We may not be able to pick the best cruise line, but, we can certainly share our experiences and give each other new ideas.

Who knows, maybe you will find your next amazing cruise adventure in the comments below.

I’d love to get your opinion on this!

In your opinion, what is the best cruise line for your lifestyle and why? What is the best cruise experience that you have ever had? What made it so special? Please join the conversation.
