Today’s Good News Story – 80-Year-Old Man Saves Drowning Boy… Then, He Finds This out…

Saving someone’s life is something that most of us only have to do once in our lives. And, even if we do have to save more than one person, we certainly don’t expect them to be related. That would be too much of a coincidence!

Well, this is exactly what happed to 80-year-old Xu Weifang.

According to Jiangsu Television (article in Chinese) Xu Weifang was sitting in his house when he heard that a young boy had fallen into the river and needed help.

Despite being 80-years-old and suffering from several injuries, Xu leapt into the water and saved the boy.

At the hospital, Xu was in for one more surprise. It turns out that he actually saved the boy’s father from drowning in the very same river… 30-years-ago!

What an amazing story!

Margaret’s Message for the Day

Today, I am reminded of the importance of family. My son, his wife and my grandson have just started to drive back from Latvia to Switzerland after 1 month on the road. The journey of 2,000 kilometers (1242 miles) will take several days and I will be thinking about them the whole time.

If you have a moment, I encourage you to reach out to someone that you love today. Tell them how much they mean to you. It doesn’t matter how they respond. All that matters is that you show that you care.

Have a wonderful weekend!

-Margaret
