Today’s Good News Story – Could Robots Help to Solve Loneliness Among Older Adults?
Based on conversations I’ve had with women in our Sixty and Me community and a survey we undertook, 75% of us have experienced loneliness at some time in our life.
In those lonely moments, many women retreat into themselves and spiral into depression. Others reach out online to social media friends for company and perspective. But are robots and AI chatbots the answer?
I think so. Why? Because, as technology continues to get more advanced, we will see the line between human intelligence and artificial intelligence (which won’t feel very “artificial”) blurring. When this happens, we may become more comfortable with having mechanical friends.
I just posted an article on this topic. If you have ever felt lonely in your life, I hope that you will read the article and join the conversation!
Margaret’s Message for the Day
Today, I am thinking about someone close to me who is undergoing a medical procedure this morning. It reminds me that the only truly important things in life are health, happiness and love. But, without our health, the other two are almost impossible to achieve!
No matter what is going on in your life, I encourage you to take your health seriously. Chances are you have longer than you think to live. Your body will thank you in the future for the investments that you make in it today.
Quote for the Day
“To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one’s family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one’s own mind. If a man can control his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him.” – Buddha
