Hi everyone! Here are the biggest news stories for August 26, 2018 along with a few of my own thoughts. I also have a fascinating question to ask all of you about the benefits and costs of technology. I hope that you will join the discussion!

According to the BBC, Federal Reserve chairman, Jerome Powell, has confirmed that his department will continue to take a cautious approach when it comes to interest rate increases. Today’s Good News Story – Our New “Book of the Week” Feature
Whenever I ask the women in our community to tell me their favorite books – or what they are reading right now – I get such fantastic answers. In fact, I now have so many ideas for good books that I have decided to start a “Book of the Week” feature on Sixty and Me.
This is not so much a “book club.” While I hope that all of you will join in the discussion, my goal here is really just to highlight books that your Sixty and Me Sisters love.
Yesterday, I posted my first book review for “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.” I hope that you enjoy it!
And, please don’t forget to give us your own suggestions for books that we should add to our “Book of the Week” club.
Margaret’s Message for the Day
From a technological perspective, we are living in fascinating times. On the one hand, technology is making businesses more productive (and profitable) than ever before. On the other hand, for the first time in history, we may be on the verge of seeing technology take away jobs rather than add them.
On the one hand, technology is helping us to live longer. On the other hand, it isn’t clear that society is ready for a world in which people live to be 120, on average.
So, today, I’d love to start a conversation about technology. Specifically, I’d love to hear if you are more excited or concerned about the rapid growth of technology? Or, do you, perhaps, feel both of these emotions?
Quote for the Day
