What’s the Best Way to Travel After 60? By Train, by Plane or…?

By Margaret Manning May 27, 2015 Travel

At Sixty and Me, we’re on a mission to help women over 60 to make new friends, learn new things and find happiness. Few activities can help you do all three of these more than travel.

Travel offers more than just an opportunity to see new places. It gives us the opportunity to see the world through new eyes. Through travel, we learn to understand others and, more importantly, ourselves.

Baby boomers have always been an adventurous lot. In our teens, we embraced hitchhiking and, for those of us lucky enough to have a friend with a VW Bus, road trips were a regular occurrence. Now, as we reach our 60s, we are once again embracing travel.

So, today I have a simple question. When you have the choice, do you prefer to travel by plane or by bus? Are you the kind of person who likes to take the slower path, but, see more of the scenery? Or, do you want to get to your destination as fast as possible?

Were you surprised by the results of this survey? Are there other forms of transportation that you prefer more than either planes or trains? Which ones? Please join the discussion.
