Goldie Hawn Steps Out in Style for a Great Cause

By Sixty and Me November 16, 2018 News

Goldie Hawn, 72, has spent nearly five decades in the entertainment spotlight, building a name for herself as an award-winning actress with roles in films like Cactus Flower, Private Benjamin, Overboard, Housesitter, and countless others.

However, Hawn’s true passion is, and always has been, family. She has worked hard to create a happy and loving family of her own and in 2003, Hawn decided to try and spread that happiness by creating The Hawn Foundation to help underprivileged children.

In addition to her successful acting career, close-knit family, and philanthropic endeavors, Hawn is also known for her fashion-forward style, which she recently showed off at her annual charity event.

Seventies Style, Family, and Fundraising

Family has always been a big part of Hawn’s life, as she has two children from a previous marriage, Oliver and Kate, and one child, Wyatt, with her longtime partner, Kurt Russell. She is also a grandmother to six grandchildren, with her most recent granddaughter being born just last month!

Over the years, Hawn has openly shared just how much joy her big family brings to her life, telling Closer magazine, “A good family is the answer to happiness…I look at our kids and grandkids and there’s nothing in the world that could make me as proud as I am of all of them.”

In fact, it is Hawn’s love of family and children that inspired her to start the Hawn Foundation back in 2003 to raise money and try to bring happiness and hope to underprivileged children. As part of her foundation, she started MindUP, a curriculum that “teaches children how to quiet their mind, relax, reduce stress, develop pro-social behaviors, and learn about the brain to better understand human behavior.”

In an effort to raise money to support her philanthropic endeavors, Hawn throws an annual fundraising event called Goldie’s Love-In for Kids, which took place earlier this week at Annabel’s in London.

Hawn showed up to the event wearing a stunning seventies-inspired style that included shiny silver bell-bottoms, a flowy black sequined blouse, and a matching silver jacket. She completed the look with a pair of black studded peep-toe heels, large diamond hoop earrings, and wore her hair in loose, flowing waves.

But the best part of Hawn’s bold ensemble was the wide smile that she wore all night long, genuinely expressing just how excited and passionate she is about raising money for children and taking an active role in her charity.

Truly a timeless beauty, Hawn was recently asked her secret for staying in such good health and looking so youthful, to which she replied, “I don’t have one. I really don’t. It’s not a secret. I try to drink my juices. I try to work out every day a little bit. I find moments in the day…I hike. I bike. I try to have as much fun as possible.”

Maybe the key to Hawn’s youthful glow comes from all the quality time she spends with family and the time that she dedicates to creating happier lives for children near and far! Whatever it is, we can all agree that not only does Hawn look incredible, but she is doing so much good for so many children in need, and for that, we applaud her!
