Poem: Money, Nuns, and Carpet Mold

So, how is your cash flowing, my dear friend?
Will your dollars last ’til your very end?
You’re not all alone in worry’s tight hold—
About life or bills, with money so bold!

For money’s a mirror, a curious sight,
Reflecting your feelings in day and at night.
The more that you stress over dollars and cents,
The more it reveals all your inner events.

And isn’t it funny how money can seem,
Not pure like a nun or sweet as ice cream.
But skittery, jittery, spooky to hold,
Like big hairy spiders or (ugh!) carpet mold.

We laugh at odd thoughts from cultures of old:  
“Save for rainy days, Penny saved, penny told,
Falling from heaven? Now that’s rather scary—
Tiny brass missiles that rain on Aunt Mary!

Before all this fussing, folks traded by hand.
Ten goats for a tent or eight sheep for your land.
But goats in a wallet? They don’t fold down flat,
So humans invented new ways handling that.

Checks with cute flowers and cards made of plastic.
Swipe them too freely—your budget turns spastic!
And then we crowned money King of the Earth,
A measure of value, a measure of worth.

But here is the twist and it’s simple, (behold).
Money’s just tree trunks, recycled and rolled.
Not wicked, not sneaky, not something to fear.
A part of your journey while you’re living here.

So shift your perspective, release “I can’t buy.”
Say, “Not for today…but the right time is nigh.”
Don’t “make” money either, you’ll end up in jail!
Invite it instead, like a breeze sets a sail.

For money’s a teacher, an odd one but bold,
Helping reveal harmful thoughts that you hold. 
Learn from its lessons, release the old tales.
And watch as your life and your cash flow prevails.
