This Could be Your Last Chance to Find Happiness – Don’t Miss it!
Do you every feel like you are chasing happiness? How many times have you said, “When I get _______ I’ll finally be able to do ______?” Or, “If only _____ would happen, I could finally be happy!” This kind of thinking comes so naturally to us that we barely even notice it. Unfortunately, natural as it may be, this kind of thinking also prevents us from being happy in the present.
I once heard a quote along these lines, “People wait all week for Friday, all year for summer and all life for happiness.” How tragic and how true!
I don’t want to sound dramatic here, but, as women in our 60s, we are running out of “Friday’s” to look forward to. Isn’t it time that we stopped chasing the next milestone and started finding happiness in the here and now?
Happiness is a matter of perspective. Being positive requires us to redirect our lens away from the future to focus on what we can be grateful for now.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. Please answer the following questions and let’s get a discussion going.
What are you most grateful for in your life? What activities do you participate in that make you happy and keep you “in the moment”? What advice would you like to give to the other women in our community who are looking for happiness after 60?
Here is a short video that I recorded about finding happiness after 60. I hope that you find it useful!
