Choosing the right winter hat involves considering both style and functionality to ensure you stay warm while looking good.
These are some of the criteria we based our selections on.
Check for hats with additional insulation or lining, such as fleece, to provide extra warmth.
To protect against the cold wind, opt for a hat that covers your ears and the back of your neck.
Consider your activities – if you’ll be active outdoors, a breathable hat may be preferable to prevent overheating.
If you’re on the go, choose a hat that is easy to pack and won’t lose its shape.
Some hats come with additional features like built-in ear warmers, removable pom-poms, or convertible styles.
By considering these factors, you can find the perfect winter hat to keep you warm, complement your style, and meet your specific needs.

Those hats are all nice choices – but I don’t think age has anything to do with the matter.

I live in Minnesota. Have been wearing wool felt berets for years. The Best!
The Eric Javit’s Wickford hat is absolutely stunning, I love it. However, goodness me, when I googled the price it is £198 in the UK!!!!! So about 250 US dollars. I’ll keep my lovely warm woollen beanies all from under £20 each.
Most of those hats are cute, but as a resident of a cold and very windy city, the only hats that work, are the ones that have the ears flaps. If your ears aren’t thoroughly covered by a hat, you will feel the cold and wind. Those cute beanies and even wool knit hats that cover most of your head, still allow cold air to hit your ears. They might be stylish in “sort of cold” areas where you want to look wintery, but still stylish, but in a truly cold climate, anyone will tell you to cover your ears, and keep that hat tied securely down.
