2026 brings some pretty interesting movies. From revisited old classics like Sense and Sensibility, literary adaptations like Wuthering Heights, and adult-focused thrillers like The Bride!, we’ve put together a list of new movies for 2026. There’s a movie for every taste, and we’re sure you will be putting several of these on your watch list. 

2026 Movie Releases We Can’t Wait to Watch

The Rip

Release Date: January 2026

The Rip, produced by and starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, premiered on Netflix in January 2026. The suspenseful police-mystery-thriller is about a group of cops who discover a stash of millions of dollars and who may or may not do the right thing. 

Hamnet

Release date: January 2026

Hamnet, inspired by Maggie O’Farrell’s novel, is a historical drama that tells the story of William Shakespeare’s life through the eyes of his wife and children. Set in 16th-century England, the film focuses on Shakespeare’s family life rather than his fame. A powerful and emotional movie!

Wuthering Heights

Release date: February 2026

This new adaptation of Emily Brontë’s 1847 novel Wuthering Heights is a psychological thriller set on the Yorkshire moors that follows a passionate, tumultuous love story. 

Crime 101

Release date: February 2026

Crime 101 stars Chris Hemsworth, Halle Barry, and Mark Ruffalo, to name a few. This sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat crime movie is based on a jewelry thief’s honor and respect for the rules of crime that can help produce the perfect heist. 

Reminders of Him

Release date: March 2026

Reminders of Him is a romantic drama based on the 2022 novel by American author Colleen Hoover. Kenna lands in prison for 7 years after a fatal accident. She returns home after her release, only to find closed doors, heartbreak, and the possibility of new love. 

The Bride!

Release date: March 2026

The Bride! is a monster movie inspired by the 1935 film Bride of Frankenstein. It is written, co-produced, and directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal and stars Christian Bale, Annette Bening, and Jake Gyllenhaal, among others. 

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man

Release date: March 2026

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, a Netflix drama film, is set against the backdrop of World War II and follows the Shelby family beyond the original series. This movie will resonate with viewers who like character-driven historical dramas and who enjoyed the 6 seasons of Peaky Blinders on Netflix. 

The Drama

Release date: April 2026

The Drama is an intimate and emotional look at a young couple’s relationship. They collide as expectations and egos get in the way, and explosive revelations are exposed just days before their wedding. 

Mother Mary

Release date: April 2026

Mother Mary, starring Anne Hathaway, is a psychological drama-thriller about an iconic pop star who reunites with her estranged best friend. Old wounds resurface as she prepares for a comeback tour. Identities are questioned, and vulnerability ensues. 

Sense and Sensisibility

Release date: September 2026

This upcoming romantic drama, adapted from Jane Austin’s classic novel, brings a fresh take from the original 1995 movie of the same name. The Sense and Sensibility 2026 version brings a talented cast to the screen and is an excellent addition to your list if you are into period pieces and character-driven movies.

Dune: Part Three

Release date: December 2026

Dune: Part Three is the latest in the sci-fi award-winning trilogy. This Dune movie is darker and more introspective than the previous two. It explores the complexities of power and how it reshapes identity and relationships.
