Grace (Jane Fonda) is all polished cocktails and sharp one-liners, while Frankie (Lily Tomlin) is bohemian chaos in flowing caftans. Their lives are turned upside down when their husbands leave them (for each other), and what starts as a total disaster slowly turns into an unexpected sisterhood.
It’s a show about starting over at an age when society thinks you’re supposed to fade into the background. Being women over 60, we know all about that, right? The relationship is all about arguing, laughing, crying, and inventing everything from yam-based lube to vibrators for women with arthritis.
So far, Hacks has 3 seasons (2021–2024)
Hacks is about Deborah Vance, who is brilliantly played by Jean Smart. She is a legendary Las Vegas comedian in her 60s whose career is starting to slow down. To stay relevant, she reluctantly hires Ava, a 25-year-old comedy writer who’s just been “canceled” in Hollywood. The clash between Deborah’s old-school grit and Ava’s modern bite is where the comedy happens.
Hacks is super funny and is unafraid to show the messy realities of being a woman in a youth-obsessed industry. Most of us over 60 can relate to that! Jean Smart’s performance in Hacks has been called career-defining.

I’d add (Inspector) Lewis to your list. It’s a sequel to Morse. The stories follow the lives, professional and personal, of Inspector Robbie Lewis and his subordinate, James Hathaway. Some of the stories revolve around the aging Lewis’ second chance at love, after the death of his wife. Highly reccommended for fans of British mystery series.
I don’t pay for any streaming services because as an older widow, my Spectrum monthly charges are exorbitant and Spectrum is always raising those charges.
