Are you looking for casual outfit ideas that are comfortable and that look good?
When you look good, you feel good.
Casual and comfortable doesn’t have to mean boring and frumpy. So, here are my tips for dressing stylishly casual over 60.
Here are our top Casual Outfits for Women Over 60 That Don’t Sacrifice Style:
Dressing casual is all about comfort. No super tight clothes and stiletto heels. Items must feel comfortable and let you move freely without constraint. This doesn’t mean that you should look like you’re wearing a sack though!
Think cotton, linen, cashmere, Tencel, and stretch fabrics like jersey knits. These tend to breathe better and give off a more casual feel and look.
Cotton or denim with added stretch, like spandex, can feel comfortable and still be trendy.
Go easy on the accessories. Big earrings and blingy necklaces are probably not a good idea to add to your casual look.
When it comes to footwear, go for mules, sandals, sneakers, and ballerinas. Also, a flat bootie can look good with a pair of jeans.

Mix your outfits with layers. Long cardigans, wrap shawls, scarves, and other items add a touch of casual chic to your look.

I’ve put together a few casual outfit ideas for women over 60 that will have you looking casual without compromising on style.

We’re never too old to wear jeans. We just wear them differently now. Jeans are actually the perfect key item for a casual look. Look for jeans that have some stretch and that have a regular or a high waist.
NYDJ is a retailer that specializes in jeans that fit a diverse array of body types – of all shapes and of all ages. They now design more than just jeans and offer a variety of pants that flatten the front and lift the back all while being comfortable.

Chino pants always look casual and can be paired with a variety of clothing items. Add a pretty silk kimono for the perfect casual chic look.

You may notice that some of the models shown in the images are young and thin. We understand that this can feel frustrating, especially when the goal is to showcase fashion that speaks to women in our own age group.
At Sixty and Me, we always do our best to feature older, diverse, and relatable models whenever possible. However, the product photos are often taken directly from the retailers, and we don’t have control over the model choices they use for their promotional images.
That said, many of the garments featured in this article are available in a wide range of sizes, including plus and petite. We encourage you to visit the retailer’s website directly to view the full sizing options and see additional images.
Our goal is to recommend pieces that work beautifully on real women living real lives, and that includes all shapes, sizes, and stages of life.
One of our readers, Norma, shared a great question in the comments:
“I would love to know how to buy the entire outfits that you have suggested. I am 75 years old and really don’t relish having to go from one store to the next to purchase separate items but would love to purchase an entire outfit from your suggestions. Any possibilities there?”
We hear you, Norma, and you’re definitely not alone in feeling this way.
The outfits I feature in this article are curated from a variety of retailers, which means I often pull pieces from different sources to inspire the overall look. Unfortunately, we can’t always link to a single store that sells the full outfit as shown.
That said, here’s a helpful tip: Take this article with you to a department store that carries multiple categories (clothing, footwear, and accessories) like Macy’s, Nordstrom, JCPenney, Sears, Bloomingdale’s, or Target. Many of these stores offer personal shopping assistance, and you can ask a store associate to help you find similar pieces in your size and preferred fit. The exact items might not be there, but you can easily recreate the outfit with a similar silhouette, fabric, and color combination.
Thank you, Norma, for the thoughtful comment, and keep them coming! These kinds of questions help us continue improving what we share.

I’m so surprised to see so many women with very heavy and flabby arms wearing sleeveless dresses to weddings I wonder why they don’t chose long sleeves or 3/4 sleeves.
I’d like to request more articles for short heavy women over 60. We don’t necessarily fit into the generic categories, and the bra articles often don’t work at all. Please help!
