I have a lot of respect for Maria Shriver. She is an author, journalist and advocate for women’s empowerment. She also happens to be the ex-wife of former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. She has been a public figure all her life.
Now, on her 60th birthday, I wanted to wish her all the best for the decades to come. Let’s take a few moments to think about her life so far and to wish her a very happy birthday in the comments.
A member of the Kennedy family, Maria’s life was followed with a magnifying glass. However, with beautiful strength of character, she has forged her own identify and defined herself as a woman of strong character, humanity and love.
On her Facebook page she says, “I’m a journalist, producer, author and mother. My mission is to inform, inspire and ignite people to be Architects of Change in their own lives and communities.”
With that kind of mission, I feel like she is already a part of the Sixty and Me community, even if she doesn’t know it yet! We are all bound together by a desire to make the world a better place and to reach our potential. We need more examples like Maria Shriver to inspire us and give us energy.
If you haven’t already, I highly recommend that you check out her website, where she describes how her work is driven by a belief that all of us have the ability to be change makers.
She encourages people who see a problem in their own life, or the community around them, to step out of their comfort zone and help to create a solution. Shriver is champion for women’s empowerment, economic entrepreneurship and social justice.
She has been in the spotlight, serving others, for so many years. But today is her day. She is just Maria.
Today, on November 6, 2015, Maria Shriver is 60 years old. I think it would be great if the Sixty and Me community gave her a big virtual hug and a birthday shout out! Happy Birthday Maria. Wishing you every happiness in the world!
What do you think of Maria Shriver’s believe that anyone can make a difference in the world if they step out of their comfort zone an commit themselves to being a part of the solution? Please add a birthday wish to Maria in the comments section below.
