Faux fur was all over the catwalks and is now present in the stores all across the country. From high-end designers to retailers like H&M, you will find faux fur coats in all shapes and lengths. If a full faux fur coat sounds intimidating or not appealing to you, you can try faux fur trim, like collar lining or cuffs.

How to Choose the Right Coat

When shopping for a winter coat, consider these factors:

  • Climate: Ensure the coat’s warmth level matches your local weather conditions. For extremely cold climates, prioritize insulated or shearling-lined options.
  • Lifestyle: Opt for versatile styles that fit your daily activities, from errands to office commutes. If you’re frequently on the move, lightweight yet warm options like cropped quilted jackets are ideal.
  • Material: Look for quality fabrics that can withstand wear and tear, such as wool, down, or high-quality faux fur. Waterproof or weather-resistant finishes are a bonus for snowy or rainy conditions.
  • Color and Style: While neutrals are versatile, don’t shy away from experimenting with bold hues or patterns that align with your personality.

Boo

Hideous! Completely non-functional in below zero weather (NO ONE wears high heeled boots in -30 below weather w/icy streets!). Who comes up with these “fashion” trends . . . Oh, and the prices are in the $300 plus range if you want “quality”. We live where it’s -30 in the winter. It’s all about functionality! If my car breaks down between home and town, I need to be able to SURVIVE until help comes! Nothing against you. Appreciate the article. But, the “fashion” designers need to get back to practicality and classic clothes design. Just my two cents.
