Makeup for older women is a hot topic for our community. Unlike previous generations of women, who were expected to dress a certain way and “age gracefully,” women our age are expressing themselves through stylish clothing and dazzling makeup.
It’s been over 2 years since Ariane Poole and I started working together on a series of makeup tips for older women videos. In today’s video, we will show you how to draw attention to your beautiful eyes.
Ariane Poole and I are both ignoring aging stereotypes and letting our hair grow for the summer. Who says older women can’t wear long hair! Not us!
Before my latest interview with Ariane, I reached out to the Sixty and Me community to ask them what questions they had about makeup for older women. One comment that came up repeatedly was “What is the best summer foundation for aging skin?”
I absolutely love playing with homemade body scrubs. After all, the body scrubs that you can get in most stores are super expensive. In addition, many commercial body scrubs include ingredients that you might not even want on your skin!
So, over the last year or so, I’ve started to experiment with creating my own luxurious body scrubs from items in my kitchen. Today, I’d like to share my favorite coconut palm sugar, coconut oil and sandalwood essential oil body scrub.
Like many older women, I sometimes have trouble getting my makeup to play well with my glasses. In this video, I’d like to share a special product that I have found that really helps to make my eyes pop. I usually apply it in a special way, which I will get into in a second.
Makeup for older women isn’t just about finding the right products for your skin. It’s also about having the right products on hand, when you need them.

As you know, I’m not a big fan of anti-aging products. At the same time, just because I don’t believe in magical pills and potions doesn’t mean that I don’t like playing with makeup and handmade face masks.
When I told my friend Susie that I was going to create a magical turmeric face mask for aging skin, her immediate question was, “Aren’t you afraid that you will turn your skin yellow?”
Recently, I asked the women in our community to share their questions about makeup for women over 60. We had some great questions, including one from Carol, who asked about facial hair removal. So, to help investigate this issue, I turned to my good friend, Ariane Poole.
A few days ago, I recorded my first Facebook Live session. Over 6,000 women over 60 watched the 40-minute video! It was a great opportunity to connect with our Facebook community, share ideas and discuss things that were on our minds.
